CPF accrued interest at 2.5% a year

Answers:What is CPF accrued interest, and must I refund it on sale?

Checked against the source 2026-08-01

The rule

CPF Ordinary Account savings earn a floor interest rate of 2.5% per annum. Amounts withdrawn for property must be refunded on sale together with the accrued interest they would have earned.

Issued by
CPF Board
Applies to
CPF Ordinary Account balances and the accrued-interest refund on property sale.

Where this goes wrong

Budgeting the sale proceeds as cash. The CPF refund plus accrued interest returns to the OA, not to your bank account — it is the single most underestimated figure in an upgrade.

Rules change, and a figure without a date is worth nothing. Ask whether this is still current before you rely on it for a decision.
